(See our next FAQ below this one to understand how our price compares)
Because the AI explosion has put such heavy pressure on the computer memory and storage industry, prices are continually in flux. As of May 29, 2026, the basic no-contract 256GB VaultNode + SovereignVPN (5 endpoints) prices at $475.00 + taxes and fees (depending on your payment method), but your cost may be higher or lower upon inquiry. Your in-home evaluation and installation is included in the price (note we only serve the greater Tucson area). Maintenance contract pricing is available when you receive your in-home evaluation.
It is a better deal in the long run. Big Tech companies charge monthly recurring fees forever. If you stop paying, you lose access to your data on their systems. A 1 TB subscription across major providers often costs roughly $100–$120 per year. Additionally, a quality VPN subscription costs roughly $60-$120 per year. Over a 5-year period, you can easily pay $800 to $1200 in “rent” for for services that you do not own, that sit on someone else’s property, that monitor your content, log your activity, and significantly weaken 4th Amendment protections. And the prices are often higher for small businesses. VaultNode is a one-time purchase (monthly maintenance subscriptions are recommended, but optional); the hardware is yours, the data is yours, and there is no monthly “data tax” to keep your own files accessible.
A secure infrastructure is not just software; it is physical hardware, local environmental conditions, and specific network topography. To build a true “fortress,” we must understand the physical and digital realities of your space. This also allows us to verify that your hardware is physically and digitally protected. We would also like to establish line of trust that remote technicians cannot provide.
Yes. We understand that autonomy is the ultimate goal for many of our clients. In our “Standard Ownership” model, we provide you with a fully installed, hardened system and grant you full administrative access. You own the hardware and the data. Aside from an initial 90 day period of security updates that can be provided by us, we will release full control without secret “administrative overrides.” You are the master of your own domain.
A contract will give you access to things such as your own personalized/easy to remember vaultnode.us domain, and depending on your contract level: additional VPN devices beyond the 5 pre-installed, active security updates, better threat mitigation via our VaultNode Defense Network, new feature additions, voice and/or email access to our expert technician, and the list goes on. You may consider yourself tech-savvy, but when the online resources fall short, without a contract, we charge a per-incident fee for access. A contract is required if you desire any interactive support (via voicemail/email/voice) that doesn’t come with a per-incident fee. From a practical standpoint, think of a maintenance contract as an elite security detail for your digital perimeter. In the modern era, the threat landscape has shifted dramatically. With the rise of AI-driven automated hacking, vulnerabilities are discovered and exploited in a matter of hours, not weeks. While traditional “Patch Tuesday” cycles leave systems exposed to known exploits for days on end, our managed service operates on a rapid-response protocol. We monitor for emerging vulnerabilities in real-time and apply security patches as soon as they are tested and verified, effectively closing doors to AI-driven intrusions before they can reach your front gate.
Beyond your immediate security, there is a fundamental ethical component to this engagement. Every dollar generated by our maintenance contracts does not disappear into the coffers of a venture-backed tech conglomerate or an overseas data-mining entity. Instead, a portion of these funds is directed toward supporting causes and institutions aligned with the advancement of the Kingdom of God. When you contract with us, you are not merely purchasing a service—you are participating in a loop of mutual improvement. You receive world-class, proactive security, and your resources are leveraged to build, strengthen, and provide for the Kingdom and those who labor within it. We are not just maintaining servers; we are fueling a movement of independence and stewardship.
We are not a data-mining operation. We are a 4th Amendment technical service company. We provide the tools to build your infrastructure, but we do not store, view, or analyze your personal content without your express consent. We operate on the principle that your digital property is protected by the 4th Amendment, and we abide by a strictly enforced policy of data minimization. See our privacy policy for more details
Because we believe in your sovereignty, you are never “locked in.” Your system is yours. If you choose to terminate our maintenance services, the system remains in your possession, fully functional and under your exclusive control. We will provide you with the necessary credentials to continue managing the system yourself or to transition to another provider of your choosing. You will not need to download your data and get it off of a cloud because you will already have it in your home or place of business.
We treat security as a collective defense. For our managed clients, we use a shared threat-intelligence database that aggregates data on malicious actors and methods. If an automated “bad actor” attacks one managed node, that intelligence is used to harden the perimeter of the entire network. This creates a resilient, confederated defense rather than leaving each system to defend itself against the entire internet alone.
Your infrastructure is self-contained. It does not live in our “cloud.” It lives on your hardware, under your roof. It really is that simple. The only things you would need to allow in are VPN and web connectivity (optional – turned on by default unless otherwise requested) in order to get to your files from anywhere or share them (securely) with anyone.
“Regular” people can use it. Many of the apps have a familiar feel to them, and some of it will feel brand new. It shouldn’t be any harder than what a transition from Google to Microsoft and vice-versa might be like. What is “technical” to one person, is not to the next. However, like anything new, there is no way around the fact that there will be a learning curve when you transition to a sovereign system.
“Weaning off” the surveillance state requires a step up in maturity—a moment to put on your big pants, so to speak, and reclaim active responsibility for your own digital home. While we handle the heavy technical lifting and the “plumbing” of the installation, we acknowledge that you will need to learn a new way of interacting with your data. To make this shift as seamless as possible, we are working to provide a library of practical how-to videos and clear documentation to guide you through the process. We don’t aim to dumb down the technology; we aim to empower the user. We bridge the gap between complex infrastructure and daily usability so that you can exercise your right to privacy without needing a degree in computer science.
