Managed Maintenance Customers: This VaultNode instance is maintained by Digital Colonies LLC. We act as an independent technical resource providing security architecture and administrative support for your personally owned infrastructure.

Standard Customers: This VaultNode instance is minimally maintained by Digital Colonies LLC for a limited period of 90 days from the date of purchase. We act as an independent technical resource providing security architecture and administrative support for your personally owned infrastructure.

Each VaultNode instance is an independent, sovereign digital estate. These nodes do not exist as part of a centralized corporate platform; rather, they are autonomous units that may—at the user’s discretion—federate with other independent nodes to share defensive intelligence. Digital Colonies does not own, control, or house your data. We provide the technical expertise to help you build and defend your own infrastructure.

Our service relationship with you is defined by the following agreement tiers:

• Standard Ownership: For clients hosting a VaultNode without a maintenance contract, Digital Colonies LLC provides no ongoing administration, security updates, or telemetry monitoring beyond the initial 90 day period from the date of purchase. In this tier, you retain full, unilateral control over all system configurations and physical security. We are not responsible for the security posture of unmanaged nodes.
• Managed Maintenance: Clients under an active maintenance contract provide Digital Colonies LLC with administrative access that includes but is not limited to: applying security patches, performance tuning, health monitoring, new feature install, and customer application support. We are not responsible for, nor do we possess authority over, the contents of your private files, databases, or application-layer data.

Consistent with the protections afforded by the Fourth Amendment, we operate on a model of strict data separation:

1. Administrative Isolation: We maintain access only to system-level technical logs and performance telemetry. We do not access “content” (files, messages, personal databases) without your express consent.
2. No Centralized Harvesting: We do not engage in data aggregation from your node for marketing, analytics, or third-party profiling.
3. Threat Intelligence: For our maintenance customers. To protect the integrity of the network, we aggregate anonymized technical event data from managed nodes. This contributes to a shared defensive intelligence pool, ensuring all nodes can better mitigate common threats, as well as maintain optimal system performance. Technical event data is never given to nor summarized for 3rd parties.

Your VaultNode device utilizes open-source software. The source code for these components is governed by their respective licenses. We acknowledge the foundational contributions of these projects and maintain all original copyright notices as required by their terms. By utilizing this instance, you agree to respect the terms of use associated with this software. Information regarding the source code for these components is available upon request or reachable via the software’s administrative interface.

You are the sole owner and administrative authority of this VaultNode device. As our role is that of a technical resource assisting in your infrastructure development, we assume no liability for the legality of data stored on your node or for the personal use of the systems we help secure. You are the final arbiter of your system’s security and content.
